Heino Schmid was born in 1976 in Nassau, The Bahamas to a German father and Bahamian mother. He earned his BFA in Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA, USA and his MA in Fine Art at the Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

He has participated in several group shows including VOLTA NY (solo), New York. NY, (2013), GROUP SHOW Camagüey, Cuba (2013), THE SIXTH NATIONAL EXHIBITION / Nassau, The Bahamas (2013), INTO THE MIX Louisville, Kentucky, US ,WRESTLING WITH THE IMAGE Washington DC. (2011) and many more.
